Action Alliance for Children
Develop a media relations strategy for organization's first-ever award
for children advocates. Consult on award development and planning.
Americans for Safe Access
Research and create communications strategy to further policy goals to
protect the rights of patients and doctors to use marijuana for
medical purposes.
Asian & Pacific Islander Wellness Center
Provide researched-based plan to include reframed messages and revised
or new materials to better inform their target audiences.
Asian Pacific Fund
Develop a plan for designing and implementing the Chang-Lin Tien
Education Leadership Awards program
California Alliance for Child and Family Services
Research and produce messages and materials to enhance the
organization’s ability to advocate for reform and educate policymakers
and general public.
California Children and Families Commission
Create messages and materials and conduct communications workshops and
technical assistance for Proposition 10 county commissions.
California Credit Union League
Conduct an audit of all of the League’s publications and media
relations materials to provide recommendations for more effective
communications and policy advocacy program.
California Department of Justice
Provide support to the California Attorney General's Crime and
Violence Prevention Office through planning nine regional forums
involving 1,400 policymakers, creating a website and producing a
policy report.
The California Endowment
Develop and implement a media campaign celebrating four
community-based organizations' effectiveness on improving community
health.
California Health and Human Services Agency
Manage the interagency Child Indicator Initiative to develop 20
indicators capable of measuring improvements in children's well-being.
California HealthCare Foundation
Create a research-based communications strategy for the CHART-3
project (hospital reporting) for a variety of stakeholders.
California Parks and Recreation Society
Conduct multiple projects including creation and implementation of a
communications strategy to publicize the importance of parks and
recreation programs and their professionals in building strong, safe
communities and develop a communications and media strategy for
statewide conference.
California Secretary of State's Office
Develop a curriculum to provide each public high school in California
with materials and a presentation that will encourage youth civic
participation measured, in part, by voter registration.
California Tomorrow
Conduct an internal study to guide the organization's strategic
planning process to build on their 20 years of action research, policy
advocacy, and capacity building.
The California Wellness Foundation
Develop foundation's overall communications strategy as well as
implement individual media relations projects.
The California Wellness Foundation's Violence Prevention Initiative
Create and implement a multi-year, multi-faceted public education
campaign, Choices for Youth, to increase resources to prevent violence
against youth in California. Received 2002 Silver Award for Public
Information Campaigns from the Council on Foundations.
Center for
Investigative Reporting
Formulate a communications plan and oversee the
organizing of local forums to screen CIR’s documentary, Nuestra
Familia, Our Family, to spur community discussion and promote
gang prevention policies at the local and state levels.
Civic Engagement Project for Children and Families
Funded by the Miriam & Peter Haas Fund, the Walter & Elise Haas Fund,
the James Irvine Foundation, the David& Lucile Packard Foundation, and
the Peninsula Community Foundation, provide strategic communications
for eight Prop 10 county commissions to increase involvement of
under-represented communities in planning for programs for children 0
to 5.
Corporation for Supportive Housing
Create an over-all communications plan for and individual technical
assistance programs for grantees of the Frequent Users of Health
Services Initiative, funded by The California Endowment and The
California HealthCare Foundation.
East Bay Community Foundation
Develop and test messages for the community foundation to use in
increasing its asset base.
Experience Corps San Francisco
Coordinate a statewide forum to explore how older adults may be a key
part of the solution to the workforce challenge in after school
programs.
Fight Crime: Invest in Kids
Provide strategy and general consulting for communications and policy
advocacy strategies, tactics and materials.
Foster Youth Alliance/Honoring Emancipated Youth
Develop a communications strategy for a statewide campaign to provide
safe and supportive housing for former foster youth.
Foundation Consortium
Develop and implement a statewide communications strategy advocating
to improve the well-being of California's children and their families.
Assisted in agenda development and coordinated numerous statewide
conferences for organization.
Foundation Incubator
Create and execute a communications and media relations strategy to
announce the formation of the Foundation Incubator, which works with
new and emerging foundations to stimulate philanthropy.
Haigh-Scatena Foundation
Develop a brochure about and provide media relations to announce the
grant for The California Juvenile Justice Reentry Partnership, a
privately funded initiative for policy and practice reforms to improve
release outcomes for youth.
Iris Alliance Fund
Design a communications and media relations strategy for the newly
formed mental health organization. Research the portrayal of mental
health in the national and local media. Evaluate effectiveness of
existing public education campaigns and communications strategies.
Joyce Foundation
Produce a research-based strategic plan, including policy agenda,
messages, tactics, and tools, for a statewide campaign on gun policy
reform in Illinois
Keeping Youth Safe: Strategies that Work to Prevent Violence
Produce a statewide videoconference to inform and educate state and
local policymakers on the need for investment in youth violence
prevention with uplinks from Los Angeles and Sacramento and downlinks
to seven additional sites in the state. Received 2005 Gold Award for
Public Policy Campaigns from the Council on Foundations.
Lawyers' Committee for Civil Rights
A national media campaign to inform the public about a class action
lawsuit on behalf of African American and Latino car buyers who claim
they are charged higher interest rates for car loans.
Legal Community Against Violence
Design a communications and media relations strategy in moving forward
the vision of reducing violence in their second decade. In 2007,
create research based statewide campaign to pass meaningful gun laws
in Illinois, based on strategy developed with a grant from the Joyce
Foundation.
Los Angeles County Children's Planning Council
Research and design a communications plan and new identity for the
Children's Planning Council, which was created to improve conditions
for children through collaboration between local government and
communities.
Los Angeles County Department of Mental Health
Coordinate a groundbreaking conference to advance mental health
services in schools.
Lucile Packard Foundation for Children's Health
Update and expand the data available on
www.kidsdata.org, a source for information about
children’s health and well being in Alameda, Contra Costa, Marin, San
Francisco, San Mateo and Santa Clara counties in California
Marin Abused Women's Services
Create a suite of social marketing materials including posters and an
extensive "tool kit" of materials to help domestic violence prevention
advocates throughout the country recruit and train new volunteers
based on the model of transforming communities.
Marin Community Foundation
Develop a research-based strategic communications plan to raise
awareness of the foundation's projects and increase philanthropic
giving.
Moss Beach Homes
Develop a research-based communications plan to increase awareness of
the organization’s services, capacities and resources in support of
its vision to “take collective action to support communities and
families as they love and care for their children.”

Media relations to inform consumers of class action settlements.
Pajaro Valley Community Health Trust
Create a communications strategy and materials to raise the visibility
of a new initiative to improve regional health.
Planned Parenthood Federation of America
Generate social marketing materials to help recruit activists to lobby

RSVP of San Francisco
Develop a communications strategy and suite of materials in an effort
to promote volunteerism to the growing retiring boomer population.
San Francisco Beacon Initiative
Develop a multi-faceted communications strategy to build public and
political support for a public-private partnership to create youth and
family centers in public schools.
SFOP
Develop a researched-based plan to include new
messages and materials that better inform target audiences and
further overall strategic goals, including building community
leaders in San Francisco, influencing public officials, and
leveraging their 25th anniversary.
Sierra Health Foundation
Design, plan and outreach for their first-ever national conference on
health and community building. Conduct research on the portrayal of
community building in national and local print media.
Sunset Neighborhood Beacon Center
Develop a graphic identity, name, tagline and customized
communications plan.
Threshold 2008
Create a strategic communications plan and
created messages and materials to build the public voice for housing
policies and solutions in San Mateo County.
United Airlines
Train and create follow-up communications to transform employees into
grassroots lobbyists.
United Way of the Bay Area
Conduct multiple projects including initiation and shaping of a
positive public policy dialogue about the ongoing and increasing
testing in Bay Area public schools and research and distribution of a
report focusing on the status of youth safety in the Bay Area.
Urban Strategies Council
Conduct multiple projects including: research, communications
strategies, and create a business plan for the United Parcel Service
Youth Workforce Development partnership.
Women's Educational Media
Develop a communications and marketing plan for "Let’s Get Real," a
documentary film for middle school students to prevent bullying.
Youth Law Center
Since 2004, participate in strategy sessions and taskforce committee
meetings to improve outcomes for youth in the juvenile justice system
and develop communications plan and materials for the Juvenile Justice
Data Project.
