Elizabeth Galicia – Vice President
Elizabeth has nearly two decades of experience working at the nexus of nonprofits, public policy, and communications.
She spent a dozen years at the Mother Jones, as research editor wrangling research, data, and fact-checking, as managing editor of the multiplatform award-winning news outlet, and then as director of public affairs where she managed strategic outreach, reputation building, audience engagement, and large-scale events for the donor-supported nonprofit with an audience of 9 million.
Prior to that Elizabeth worked as a policy analyst for the Department of Children, Youth, and their Families where she advised on citywide youth employment strategy and assisted organizations that were recipients of the Children’s Fund.
She has a BA magna cum laude from Harvard University and masters in journalism and public policy from UC Berkeley.
